Montenegro maritime inspectors seize 16 vessels and issue 48,600 euros in fines

Montenegrin maritime inspectors conducted 124 controls along the coast between August 8 and August 15, resulting in 48,600 euros in fines and the temporary seizure of 16 vessels. The enforcement actions were carried out by the Port Authorities of Kotor and Bar.

In the Kotor jurisdiction, inspectors performed 88 checks, identifying 40 violations and issuing 38,000 euros in fines. This resulted in the temporary seizure of four boats. In the Bar jurisdiction, 36 controls led to 18 violation notices totaling 10,600 euros and the seizure of 12 jet skis.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs stated that these measures target serious and repeated offenses, including speeding near the shore and swimmers, failure to maintain required distances, and operating vessels without proper documentation. Minister Filip Radulović emphasized that the intensified oversight aims to prevent accidents and protect lives during the peak nautical season.
