Montenegro police announce intensified traffic checks and speed‑camera patrols for Statehood Day
The Montenegrin Police Directorate has warned citizens that traffic will increase around the July 13 Statehood Day holiday and the accompanying weekend and tourist season. Drivers are urged to avoid alcohol, plan journeys in advance and obey road rules to prevent accidents.
During the holiday period police will conduct heightened controls on all major routes, deploying mobile speed‑camera units (“presretači”) to target speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or psycho‑active substances and other risky behaviour. The aim is to maintain public order, ensure safe road conditions and protect residents and tourists throughout Montenegro.
