Montenegro promotes health tourism potential at Yerevan conference

Montenegrin Tourism Minister Simonida Kordić participated in the Global Conference on Health Tourism in Yerevan, Armenia. The event was organized by the Ministry of Economy of Armenia in collaboration with UN Tourism.

Kordić emphasized that health tourism should encompass more than just medical treatment, integrating medical services with accommodation, nature, wellness, and gastronomy to enhance the guest experience. She highlighted Montenegro’s expertise, specifically citing the Dr Simo Milošević Institute in Igalu as a premier model that combines rehabilitation, mineral water, and Mediterranean climate.

Kordić noted that the sector is vital for extending the tourism season, as rehabilitation, prevention, and healthy aging programs are not limited to the summer months. The conference aimed to facilitate knowledge exchange and strengthen international cooperation within the medical tourism sector.
