Montenegro receives extradited suspect Vuk Lakićević from Croatia
Montenegro’s police, together with the NCB Interpol unit in Podgorica, the FAST targeted‑search team and members of the Special Police Unit, transferred Vuk Lakićević (28) to Montenegrin authorities at the Debeli Brijeg‑Karasovići border crossing. Lakićević had been arrested in Croatia on 28 April after an Interpol international warrant was issued for his alleged participation in a high‑risk organized‑crime group responsible for six serious offences, including the creation of a criminal organization and multiple murders between 2017 and 2019.
He is now in the jurisdiction of the Special State Prosecutor’s Office and will face the Higher Court in Podgorica on charges that include the murder of Jovan Klisić and other violent crimes. Police officials emphasized that the extradition showcases effective cross‑border cooperation between Montenegro and Croatia in the fight against organized crime.
