Montenegro road closures and traffic warnings issued

The Auto-Moto Association of Montenegro (AMSCG) has issued warnings for motorists regarding road conditions and significant traffic disruptions due to ongoing construction and weather risks.

Drivers are advised to exercise caution on routes passing through canyons and gorges, as current weather conditions increase the risk of landslides. Additionally, motorists must adhere to speed limits and follow traffic signals in construction zones.

Major scheduled disruptions include:

• M-6 Highway (Pljevlja–Žabljak): Due to the reconstruction of the Đurđevića Tara bridge, passenger vehicles and buses face daily closures from 10:00 to 15:30. Outside these hours, traffic moves via alternating single lanes. Freight vehicles exceeding 3.5 tons are completely prohibited until works are finished.

• R-15 Regional Road (Ulići junction to Rijeka Crnojevića): Total closures are scheduled from October 14 to November 14 between 08:00–10:00 and 11:00–16:00.

• R-29 Regional Road (Bar–Kamenički bridge–Krute): Traffic is suspended daily from 08:00–11:00 and 13:00–16:00.

• R-17 Regional Road (Čevo–Riđani): Total closures for all vehicles are in effect from 08:00 to 14:00 until works are completed.

• Sozina Tunnel: Maintenance works will result in alternating traffic or short total closures between 22:00 and 06:00 from September 15, 2026, to June 15, 2027.
