Montenegro infrastructure: widespread road modernization and repairs

Montenegro is undergoing significant road infrastructure improvements across several regions. In Podgorica, the company ‘Putevi’ reported paving 60 kilometers of roads within nine months and announced plans to transition municipal transport into a separate enterprise.

In the northern regions, the Ministry of Public Works is investing nearly 968,000 euros to adapt the road from Velje Duboko to Kapetanovo Jezero, a project aimed at boosting tourism between Kolašin and Nikšić. Additionally, work has commenced on the 11-kilometer Andrijevica-Jošanica route, a project valued at approximately 596,557 euros intended to improve connectivity to mountain settlements.

In the Petnjica municipality, modernization efforts are underway in several local communities, supported by a 500,000 euro donation from businessman Izet Rastoder. These works aim to improve rural infrastructure for local agricultural workers. While these upgrades progress, various road closures and traffic suspensions have been reported in different areas due to ongoing construction and official events.
