Montenegro regulates pellet prices and bans extra fees
The Montenegrin government has updated its temporary measures to regulate pellet prices, aiming to prevent producers and traders from bypassing price caps through additional charges for packaging and transport.
The new regulations set a maximum price of 250 euros per ton for A2 grade pellets and 270 euros per ton for A1 grade pellets. These limits apply to all types of packaging, and no additional fees may be charged to consumers.
To ensure market stability and prevent supply shortages during the heating season, the government also mandates that suppliers do not deliver quantities lower than the average monthly supply recorded over the previous 12 months. The Ministry of Economic Development has increased market inspections following citizen complaints regarding forced transport purchases and the withholding of stock for specific buyers.
