Monterey County authorities search for man and teen after infant found dead

Authorities in Monterey County are searching for 38-year-old Sergio Galvez Perez and a 14-year-old girl following the discovery of a deceased newborn in Moss Landing on August 1. Investigators believe the teenager gave birth to the infant, referred to as ‘Baby Angelita’, alongside a roadway on Struve Road before leaving the scene. A post-mortem forensic examination indicated the infant suffered traumatic injuries.

Perez is wanted on multiple felony counts, including incest, child endangerment, child concealment, and various sexual offenses involving a minor. Investigators allege that Perez impregnated the girl when she was 13 and is currently hiding her from law enforcement. The 14-year-old is also wanted on suspicion of murder in connection with the infant's death.
