Municipal health programs expand services in Monterrey, Mexico and Montero, Bolivia

The Monterrey municipal government launched the second site of its "Salud Regia" program at the Antonio I. Villarreal Center, bringing free primary‑care, dental, optometry and laboratory services to residents. Within two months the program reported 12,500 consultations and 8,500 people enrolled, and officials plan to extend the initiative to a total of 14 health centers across the city.

In Montero, Bolivia, community leaders announced progress on the Hospital of Third Level, including plans to add oncology services within three to four months and to strengthen pediatrics and neonatology. The expansion will require hiring at least 62 health‑care professionals and completing the hand‑over of the facility from the construction company and the Ministry of Health to the regional government.
