Monterrey downtown suffers repeated power outages
The downtown area of Monterrey has experienced significant power outages caused by failures in the supply from the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE). For the second time in three days, the outage lasted approximately 18 hours, beginning early Sunday and lasting until roughly 18:00 hours.
The disruptions have heavily impacted local businesses and residents, particularly in the Barrio Antiguo and Barrio de la Luz areas. Business owners reported food spoilage and damage to electrical equipment. Previous outages in the region, including a nine-hour failure on Friday and a 28-hour disruption on September 20, have also affected traffic signals and forced local commerce to close temporarily.
