Montesano Fire Department secures $220,000 FEMA grant

FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Grant firefighting equipment bunker gear fire hoses

The Montesano Fire Department has been awarded a $220,000 grant through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The funding is designated for the purchase of 40 sets of bunker gear and a specialized bunker gear dryer. The dryer is intended to reduce equipment degradation over time and facilitate thorough decontamination, allowing gear to be returned to service more quickly after use.
