Monuments Honoring Mothers Unveiled in Bosnia's Posavina and Garevac

In Posavina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a new bronze monument dedicated to mothers was unveiled, funded by donations from the Bosnian diaspora in Croatia, Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other European countries. The statue, meant to symbolize love, sacrifice and the enduring strength of women, was presented at a ceremony attended by local officials, cultural figures and residents.

Separately, on Trg kulture in the village of Garevac, a two‑metre‑tall bronze monument titled "Majci" was inaugurated. The work by academic sculptor Mate Andrić was organized by the foundation "S onu stranu zida" together with local associations and was financed entirely through donations, including contributions from displaced persons and supporters of Bosnian Posavina. Both projects aim to permanently commemorate mothers, widows and women who endured hardship after World War II and to reinforce communal identity and solidarity.
