Monza and Brianza face housing pressure as rents and property prices rise

Research presented by Assolombarda highlights a growing housing crisis in the Monza and Brianza regions of Italy, where rising real estate costs are impacting education and employment. According to the study, 47% of surveyed students and young workers stated that housing issues influenced their choices regarding study or work locations.

Furthermore, 39% of respondents reported having at least once declined a professional or educational opportunity due to distance or commuting difficulties. Data shows that between 2019 and 2025, property prices increased by 10% in Monza and 11% in the rest of the province. Rental prices in Brianza municipalities (excluding Monza) saw a significant increase of 26% compared to 2019 levels.
