Monza Local Police launch fraud prevention campaign for elderly

Local police in Monza are conducting outreach at the Piazza Trento e Trieste market to help citizens, particularly the elderly, recognize and avoid fraudulent schemes. The initiative is part of a broader campaign promoted by the Municipality of Monza and the State Police to protect vulnerable populations.

Officers are providing practical guidance on identifying common scam tactics, such as individuals posing as technicians to request money or valuables. They also advise against sharing banking codes or personal data via telephone or email without verifying the identity of the requester. Authorities urge citizens to remain cautious of urgent or suspicious requests and to contact the emergency number 112 immediately if they encounter suspicious situations. This prevention campaign is funded by the Ministry of the Interior’s Single Justice Fund and promoted by the Prefecture of Monza and Brianza.
