Morante de la Puebla headlines 2026 bullfighting season in El Puerto de Santa María

Renowned Spanish torero Morante de la Puebla will serve as the sole marquee matador for the 2026 bullfighting calendar in El Puerto de Santa María. The schedule, approved by the authorities in Sevilla, includes four principal corridas on 1 August, 2 August, 8 August and 9 August, each featuring bulls from prominent breeders. Additional novilladas and a special Spanish‑Portuguese rejoneo tribute are also planned for late July.

Morante, acclaimed for his artistic style and described by commentators as a “genius” of the arena, will headline every main event, a rarity in modern bullfighting where multiple matadors typically share a season. Organisers anticipate a strong draw for local fans and significant economic benefit for the venue and associated businesses.
