Mexican torero Héctor Gutiérrez wins Copa Chenel 2026 at Las Ventas
The sixth edition of the Copa Chenel 2026 concluded with its grand final at the Plaza de Toros de Las Ventas in Madrid. The competition, which visited 13 bullrings across the Community of Madrid and featured 18 matadors from 27 ranches, aims to promote Spanish bullfighting ranches and give emerging toreros a platform.
Mexican matador Héctor Gutiérrez from Aguascalientes delivered a clean, pure performance, earning a full turn of the ruedo and the trophy before a crowd of more than 13,000 spectators. He was awarded the cup by Victorino Martín (president of the Fundación Toro de Lidia), Miguel Martín (director of the Centro de Asuntos Taurinos) and former winner Sergio Rodríguez. Fellow Salmantinos Alejandro Marcos and Manuel Diosleguarde also fought in the final but did not secure the prize.
