Mexico implements national pact to digitize and simplify public procedures

Mexico is implementing a national pact to eliminate bureaucratic procedures and promote digital transformation across various levels of government. Led by the Agency for Digital Transformation and Telecommunications (ATDT), the initiative aims to simplify public services, reduce administrative burdens, and combat corruption through standardization and digitalization.

Key components of the strategy include the creation of a unified catalog of 300 state procedures and a national catalog of 100 municipal procedures to ensure consistency in requirements and response times across different regions. This effort involves coordination between the federal government and 32 states, including recent commitments from Morelos, Chiapas, and various northern municipalities. The goal is to allow citizens to complete tasks such as obtaining birth certificates or CURP certifications online, 24 hours a day, reducing physical queues and discretionary power by officials.
