Nuevo Laredo officials reaffirm commitment to transport sector
Mayor Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal has reaffirmed her commitment to the transport sector in Nuevo Laredo, emphasizing that freight transport is a fundamental pillar of the city's economy and its role as a national logistics platform.
During the inauguration of the new CANACAR Nuevo Laredo Delegational Council, led by Ricardo Pillado Herrejón, the mayor expressed her readiness to maintain direct communication with transport entrepreneurs to improve mobility and economic development. She highlighted the completion of the new vehicle bridge on highway MEX 2, funded entirely by municipal resources, as a response to a 25-year demand from the border region.
The Government of Tamaulipas, represented by Secretary of Economy Ninfa Cantú Deándar, also expressed its support for the sector. Cantú Deándar noted that freight transport is vital for maintaining productive chains and strengthening trade with the United States, linking the industry to over 101 productive branches in Mexico.
