Morena concludes registration for federal district coordinators

The Morena political party has concluded the registration period for candidates seeking to become coordinators for the 300 federal districts across Mexico. The registration process, which opened on October 1, was conducted exclusively online. The National Elections Commission (CNE) will now review applications based on political trajectory, territorial recognition, ethical attributes, and commitment to the party's causes, while also prioritizing gender parity.

In Sinaloa, several political figures have formalized their intent to participate in various districts. Notable registrants include former local deputies Jesús Palestino Carrera and José Manuel Luque Rojas, as well as former Secretary of Welfare and Sustainable Development (Sebides) officials Omar López Campo and María Inés Pérez Corral. In Culiacán, local deputy María Teresa Guerra Ochoa and Merary Villegas Sánchez have engaged in dialogue regarding their respective aspirations for municipal coordination.

The selection process will utilize surveys to determine the final coordinators. The CNE is expected to publish the list of approved registrations by December 31.
