Chihuahua IMSS ad campaign fuels clash between PAN and Morena

In Chihuahua, the PAN installed twelve billboards bearing the slogan “IMSS y nada es lo mismo” to highlight perceived shortcomings of the federal health system. PAN state leader Daniela Álvarez described the campaign as a “journey of awareness” for residents, citing contrasts between local medical services and the Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS).

Morena officials plan to file a formal complaint with the Instituto Estatal Electoral, accusing the PAN of launching a “disparaging and hateful” campaign intended to divert public attention from the real situation in the state. Morena’s state president Brighite Granados de la Rosa said the ads “distort the truth about what is happening in Chihuahua.”

The National Workers' Union of the IMSS (SNTSS) in Chihuahua also condemned the advertisements, stating they demean the institution and its personnel. In a signed statement, union secretary‑general Jorge Arturo Herrera Navarro warned that “it is impossible to denigrate the IMSS without hurting the men and women who keep it running every day.”

Separately, PAN leaders accused federal IMSS director Zoé Robledo of staging a visit to a clinic in Ciudad Juárez while an actual flood was occurring, claiming the visit was filmed in a controlled location to hide the poor conditions faced by patients and staff.
