Morena leader Ariadna Montiel urges anti‑corruption line and party unity ahead of internal elections

National Morena leader Ariadna Montiel said the party’s political line is to fight corruption, while refraining from taking a definitive stance on the impeachment proceedings against governor Samuel García. In a press briefing in Monterrey, she highlighted the party’s denunciations of alleged triangulations linked to the state governor and a municipal contract, and emphasized that internal party bodies will assess the conduct of dissenting deputies.

Later, Montiel traveled to Acapulco, Guerrero, where she convened federal and local legislators and mayors. She called for internal cohesion, disciplined support for President‑candidate Claudia Sheinbaum, and the strengthening of party structures ahead of upcoming internal candidacy selections. The meetings were presented as part of a broader effort to maintain unity and organise the party’s territorial coordination for future electoral contests.
