Morena legislators push reforms to curb drug distribution corruption and digitise municipal management in Mexico

Federal deputy Gilberto Herrera Solórzano of the Morena party announced measures to reduce corruption in the distribution of free government medicines. He said shortages at public pharmacies are linked to theft and proposed new labeling and tracking systems to ensure that each medication is accounted for from prescription to delivery.

In a separate initiative, Tamaulipas deputy Humberto Armando Prieto Herrera presented a decree to modernise municipal administration. The proposal calls for the digitalisation of processes, a gradual reduction of paper use and the strategic use of information‑technology tools to make local governments more efficient, transparent and aligned with the UN Agenda 2030.
