Morena launches coordination registration process in Baja California

Morena opened a formal registration period on 22 June for the Coordination of the 4T in Baja California, outlining that the selection will rely exclusively on demoscopic surveys audited by the National Electoral Commission. Candidates must meet eight requirements, including Mexican birth, at least 30 years of age by 6 June 2027, a minimum five‑year residency in the state (or 15 years if born elsewhere), no convictions for sexual, gender‑based, corruption or serious administrative offences, and must not hold any public or partisan office while applying. The party also bars anyone listed in the registry of sanctioned political violence against women or in debt for alimony unless settled, and requires full-time availability for territorial organization work.

In parallel, the Labor Party (PT) announced Montserrat Caballero Ramírez as its sole candidate for the State Coordination of Affiliation in Baja California, tasked with recruiting new members and strengthening the party’s territorial presence ahead of the 2027 local elections. Both moves are part of broader party re‑structuring as the state prepares for the upcoming gubernatorial, municipal and legislative contests.
