Morena expands internal assemblies and candidate races across Mexican states

Morena party officials are organizing a series of "Assemblies in Defense of the Sovereignty" in multiple Mexican states. In Sonora, state committee president Judith Armenta Cota announced assemblies in Hermosillo, Ures, Moctezuma, Naco and Huásabas, part of a national plan to hold more than 2,400 such meetings. Similar gatherings were held in Cozumel, where Rafa Marín urged stronger citizen awareness of national sovereignty, and in Sonora, Omar Del Valle Colosio toured 23 municipalities emphasizing water security and local dialogue.

The party’s internal selection process for the Coordination of the Defense of the Transformation and Sovereignty National is also underway. Candidates and supporters are campaigning in several regions: Andy López Beltrán and engineer Bernardo Bosch are touring Tabasco ahead of the 2027 midterm elections; Graciela Domínguez highlighted support in southern Sinaloa; Tere Guerra Ochoa and Milena Quiroga Romero stressed accountability to the people of Sinaloa and Baja California Sur, respectively. Morena has pledged a level playing field and austerity measures for the internal contest in Sonora. The coordinated effort reflects the party’s focus on grassroots engagement and preparation for upcoming elections.
