Morocco political parties unveil 2026 election platforms

Moroccan political parties have begun unveiling their platforms ahead of the 2026 legislative elections, focusing heavily on purchasing power, employment, and social services.

The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has proposed a program costing 350 billion dirhams over five years. Key pledges include making electricity bills under 100 dirhams free, reducing income tax brackets from six to three, and capping the maximum rate at 20%. The party also aims to address youth unemployment through a national program for those outside the education and labor sectors.

The Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) has pledged to create one million jobs, including 500,000 in industry and 150,000 in the digital sector. Their platform also includes a 15% increase in the minimum wage (SMIG/SMAG) and a focus on increasing industry's contribution to the GDP.

Additionally, the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) is emphasizing redistribution and equity. Across the political spectrum, parties are centering their debates on managing the cost of living, healthcare, education, and economic sovereignty to appeal to voters facing rising prices and social challenges.
