Morocco advances stadium preparations for 2030 World Cup

Morocco is advancing infrastructure preparations for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal. Significant developments are occurring across six selected Moroccan stadiums.

The Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane is a primary focus of construction. Designed to accommodate approximately 115,000 spectators, it is expected to be the largest football stadium in the world upon completion. The project, which features architecture inspired by traditional Moroccan tents, was reported to be 40% complete as of May, with a target completion date of December 2027.

In addition to new construction, renovations are underway at the Agadir, Marrakech, and Fez stadiums. These facilities are undergoing second-phase upgrades to ensure they meet international standards following previous enhancements for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
