Morocco agricultural food exports hit 86.2 billion dirhams in 2025
Exports of agricultural food products from Morocco reached 86.2 billion dirhams in 2025, a 38% increase over 2020’s 62 billion dirhams. The sector accounted for about 18% of the kingdom’s total exports, making it the third-largest source of foreign currency.
The exported volume rose to 4.7 million tonnes in 2025, up 9% from 2020 and 49% from 2015. However, the 2025‑26 citrus season faced unusual weather, reducing citrus shipments by 12% to 553 000 tonnes, while fruit and vegetable exports, notably tomatoes, also fell.
Minister of Agriculture Ahmed Al‑Bawari emphasized the strategic role of the independent body Morocco Foodex in monitoring and promoting exports, and called for balanced domestic and foreign market development, diversification, and support for young entrepreneurs under the “Green Generation 2020‑2030” strategy. General Director Ghaitha Al‑Gharfi presented the institution’s technical and financial achievements for 2025 and budget progress for the first half of 2026.
