Morocco Agriculture Agencies Review 2025 Results and 2026 Budgets
Board meetings of the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA) and the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA) were held in Rabat and chaired by Minister Ahmed Bouari. Both agencies presented their 2025 technical and financial performance and the status of budget execution for the first half of 2026, linking their work to the "Green Generation" 2020‑2030 strategy.
The ADA reported the allocation of 125 projects covering 5,877 ha, including 45 projects on 1,094 ha in the new Dakhla farming zone using desalinated water. New aggregation projects rose to 106, and 38,600 ha of solidary agriculture were planted, bringing total cultivated area to 108,700 ha. The agency also noted 13 valuation units, 37 new water points, 29 new projects (203 total since the strategy began), and secured €100 million financing from the African Development Bank for solidary agriculture. Youth entrepreneurship was supported through 1,492 events benefitting 43,144 young people, including the national AGRIYOUNG INNOVATE competition.
INRA highlighted 15 research programmes covering key value chains, focusing on genetic improvement, water‑resource efficiency, digital tools, and partnerships with universities. The institute achieved a 92 % investment budget commitment for 2025 and a performance rate of 66 %. Ongoing initiatives include seed production for national varieties, cactus rehabilitation, palm propagation, and direct sowing programmes, all aimed at strengthening food security and climate resilience.
Both agencies emphasized the need to accelerate investment, foster innovation, and enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Morocco’s agricultural sector.
