Morocco and Qatar face hot temperatures and scattered storms

The Moroccan weather service forecasts a generally hot to very hot day across the eastern, southeastern, and desert regions, with temperatures ranging from 22 °C to 28 °C in the lowlands and as low as 11 °C to 16 °C in the High Atlas and southern areas. Unstable clouds are expected over the medium Atlas and eastern zones, bringing scattered rain showers with possible thunder. Strong to very strong winds will affect the Atlas highlands, the southeast, and the eastern regions, accompanied by localized dust.

In Qatar, meteorologists predict clear skies and a rise in temperatures, especially in mountainous areas, while the rest of the country experiences intense heat. Winds will be light to moderate, shifting from southwest‑west to northwest‑west, and the sea will see a slight increase in wave height. Authorities warn residents of the risk of prolonged direct sunlight between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and advise caution against igniting fires in areas with dry vegetation.
