Morocco approves 42 bn dirham investment plan and unveils major film studio complex
Morocco's National Investment Commission (CNI) approved 29 new investment projects and nine amendments, totaling roughly 42 000 million dirhams (about €3.8 billion). The projects are expected to generate around 9 800 jobs – 2 400 direct and 7 400 indirect – as part of a strategy to diversify the economy and compete with European partners in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, renewable energy and services.
In a parallel move, the Moroccan government announced the development of a large‑scale film studio complex aimed at attracting international productions. The facility will provide state‑of‑the‑art sound stages, technical services and logistics to support major movies, series and audiovisual projects, reinforcing the country's growing reputation as a filming destination and creating additional employment opportunities in the entertainment sector.
