Morocco Gains Infrastructure Funding and Foreign Investment Surge Ahead of 2030 World Cup
The World Bank’s latest economic report highlights a sharp rise in Morocco’s foreign direct investment, which grew 29% in 2025 to about 1.8% of GDP. The surge accompanies a 4.9% expansion in economic output, the strongest in over a decade, and stable inflation at 0.8%. Manufacturing and export sectors, including phosphates, automotive and aerospace, posted double‑digit growth, while tourism rose 7%.
In parallel, the African Development Bank approved a €205 million loan to support Morocco’s railway infrastructure, focusing on the Kénitra‑Marrakech corridor and a new high‑speed line. The financing continues a six‑decade partnership that has increasingly emphasized transport projects as a catalyst for regional integration and economic competitiveness.
