Morocco Health Ministry issues heat‑wave precautions for public

Morocco’s Ministry of Health and Social Protection warned citizens about the ongoing heat wave and urged preventive measures, especially for children, the elderly, pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses and those working outdoors. The ministry advised drinking water regularly, staying in cool or ventilated places, avoiding outdoor activities between noon and 4 p.m., wearing light clothing and limiting unnecessary physical effort.

The health authority listed eight symptoms that require immediate medical attention, including high body temperature, severe fatigue, dizziness, headache, excessive thirst, seizures, confusion, unusual drowsiness or reduced consciousness. It called on families to monitor vulnerable relatives continuously and to seek care promptly if any of these signs appear. Since June, the national heat‑wave response system has been activated, boosting surveillance, emergency department capacity and medical supplies while intensifying public awareness campaigns.
