Morocco industry and construction sectors forecast growth for Q3 2026

Moroccan industrial and construction sectors are expected to see increased activity in the third quarter of 2026, according to business leaders surveyed by the Haut-Commissariat au Plan (HCP). While manufacturing production showed growth in the second quarter of 2026—driven largely by the automotive, electrical equipment, and chemical industries—some sectors like paper, cardboard, and textiles experienced declines.

In the construction sector, SGTM is preparing for a new phase of large-scale projects. The Moroccan engineering and construction group reported an order book valued at 34.8 billion dirhams as of late June. This portfolio is heavily weighted toward the semi-public sector, which accounts for 70.9% of orders, followed by the public sector at 26.8% and the private sector at 2.3%.

Key upcoming infrastructure projects include the new Terminal Hub at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Airport, the Bou Ahmed dam, and maritime works such as Dakhla Atlantique and Nador West Med. Despite the positive outlook, manufacturing companies noted supply chain challenges, with 34% reporting difficulties in obtaining raw materials.
