Morocco marks National Day for citizens abroad, tying diaspora to 2030 development agenda

Morocco will observe the National Day of Moroccans living abroad on 10 August, under the slogan “Moroccans living abroad serving Morocco’s 2030 projects.” The celebration, instituted by King Mohammed VI in 2003, aims to strengthen ties between the diaspora and the kingdom and to showcase their contributions to science, economics, technology and culture.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and African Cooperation announced that events will be organised across the country’s regions in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, linking the day to the nation’s broader strategic programmes for 2030, including infrastructure development, digital transformation, energy transition, water resource management and the preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
