Morocco prepares for 2026 legislative election
The Moroccan authorities have started intensive training programmes for public‑sector staff, notably teachers, who will supervise polling stations in the upcoming legislative election scheduled for 23 September 2026. The courses include legal, organisational and technical instruction, as well as field simulations of all voting‑day procedures, to ensure thousands of election supervisors are ready across the country's regions.
In parallel, the High Authority of Audiovisual (HACA) released a comprehensive guide for media coverage of the election. The guide allocates broadcast slots, bans the dissemination of poll results before the last voting station closes, and sets rules for handling AI‑generated electoral content. It also requires sign‑language interpretation, subtitles and audio description where possible, and stresses the representation of women, youth, the diaspora and people with disabilities in election programming.
