Morocco secures €700 million EIB investment and new auto‑industry banking partnership

The European Investment Bank (EIB) announced a target of more than €700 million in new investments for Morocco in 2026, building on a decade‑long increase that has tripled its financing in the country. Projects highlighted include the Tanger Med port, the Ouarzazate solar complex, the Euro‑Mediterranean University in Fez and the Medusa submarine fiber‑optic cable, as well as broader support for energy transition, industrial competitiveness and rural education.

Separately, Attijariwafa Bank and the Moroccan Association for the Automotive Industry and Trade (AMICA) signed a strategic partnership to provide financing, guarantees and training to firms in Morocco’s automotive ecosystem. The agreement covers investment loans, working‑capital support, cash‑management services and co‑financing mechanisms with Tamwilcom, aimed at modernising production, boosting exports and supporting the sector’s decarbonisation and technological innovation.
