Morocco security reshuffle: 21 new appointments across 14 cities

The General Directorate for National Security has announced a series of new appointments to responsibility positions across 14 cities in Morocco. Approved by Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, the reshuffle involves 21 positions aimed at renewing security expertise and improving the efficiency of decentralized police services.

Among the key changes is the appointment of Inspector General Abdelhamid Afif as the head of the Regional Security Zone in Larache. Afif transitions to this role from Essaouira, where he served in the same capacity since 2016. His move is part of a broader effort to rotate leadership and bring experienced personnel to various regions.

The appointments cover various roles, including regional security heads in Essaouira and Larache, a police commissioner in Rich, and several heads of police districts in cities such as Fez, Safi, and Midelt. The movement also includes assignments within specialized services and uniformed police across cities like Casablanca, Rabat, and Guelmim.
