Morocco to launch F-16 and C-130 maintenance center
Morocco is advancing its industrial sovereignty in the defense sector through the establishment of Maintenance Aero Maroc (MAM). This new maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) center, located near Casablanca, is a tripartite joint venture between Sabena Engineering, Lockheed Martin, and MEDZ, a subsidiary of the Caisse de Dépôt et de Gestion.
The facility is designed to service the Royal Moroccan Air Force’s fleet of F-16 Fighting Falcons and C-130 Hercules aircraft. Spanning over 8,000 square meters in its initial phase, the site is projected to become operational in the second half of 2026. Beyond supporting national defense, the project aims to eventually provide MRO services to other F-16 and C-130 operators across the Mediterranean region and beyond.
