Morocco tops African rankings in FIFA list and business climate survey
In the FIFA world rankings released in June 2026, France held the top spot while Morocco rose to seventh place, becoming the only African nation in the global top‑10. The Democratic Republic of Congo was noted for its steady climb, sitting near the mid‑table at around 56th.
A separate French‑led survey, the 2025‑26 CIAN barometer of investors in Africa, ranked Morocco as the continent’s most attractive market for business, awarding it a 3.9‑out of‑5 overall score. The report highlighted Morocco’s strong infrastructure, political stability and skilled workforce, while pointing to weaker areas such as investment incentives and import financing. Business sentiment was positive, with 48 % of surveyed firms reporting profits in 2025 and expectations of higher earnings in 2026.
