Morocco weather forecast predicts heatwaves and thunderstorms
The General Directorate of Meteorology has forecasted continued hot weather across several regions of Morocco, including the southeast, southern provinces, northern and central plains, Souss, Saiss, and Oued Moulouya.
In addition to high temperatures, unstable and thunderous clouds are expected over the Atlas and Rif mountains, the southeast, the eastern region, Saiss, and parts of the phosphate plateaus, Walmas, Souss, and the eastern southern provinces. These storms may bring rain showers or hail.
Low-lying clouds and fog are anticipated during the morning and night along the Mediterranean coast and parts of the Atlantic coast. Some areas, particularly in the southeast, east, and southern provinces, may experience relatively strong wind gusts that could cause local dust storms.
Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius in the southeast, eastern and southern desert provinces, Oued Moulouya, Saiss, Souss, and the Tadla and Rehamna plains. Other areas, including the Atlas highlands and coastal regions, will see lows between 14 and 20 degrees Celsius.
