Moros y Cristianos festivals in Dénia and La Vila Joiosa unveil 2026 program

The Federación de Moros y Cristianos de Dénia presented the 2026 festival programme at the city's nautical club. Luis Sentí Timoner was named the pregonero, and the official poster was created by local artist Juan Caravaca. The event was attended by mayor Rafa Carrió, councilor Raúl García de la Reina and federation president Amparo Mata, who outlined the scheduled parades, dianas, and the traditional Desembarco Moro.

In La Vila Joiosa, organisers announced the upcoming "gran batalla" that will take place on Tuesday as part of the Moros y Cristianos celebrations. The reenactment will feature a night‑time Embajada Contrabandista, a Beduina embassy, and a historic Desembarco recreating the 1538 attack. The town council has also applied for the beach‑based events to be recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage site (BIC). Both festivals are declared International Tourist Interest and attract thousands of visitors each August.
