Moses Matovu death investigation: Police reconstruct crime scene in Kampala

Police and military detectives in Kampala have conducted a crime scene reconstruction to investigate the death of legendary Afrigo Band leader Moses Matovu. The exercise, held in Kibuli, involved retracing Matovu’s final movements from Rujumbura Bar to a rented residence in Market Zone B, and finally to the location where his Land Rover was found.

Investigators included suspects Rose Tumusiime, 26, and Vincent Nsamba, 41, in the reconstruction. Tumusiime reportedly demonstrated how a confrontation unfolded and how Matovu allegedly fell onto the pavement after being struck. Detectives used the exercise to compare suspect statements against physical evidence, including distances and positions, to determine the consistency of the accounts provided.

The investigation follows the passing of the renowned musician, who was also a former high-level footballer for clubs such as Express and Police, and a significant figure in the SC Villa football community.
