Mossos d'Esquadra recover €640,000 in stolen luxury vehicles

Catalan police (Mossos d'Esquadra) have recovered nine luxury vehicles valued at approximately €640,000 that were stolen in Denmark, France, and Italy. The vehicles, which include four Porsche Carrera 4 GTS models, a Range Rover Sport SVR, two Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and a Maserati Levante Modena, were part of an international theft and fraud ring.

Investigators discovered that the criminal group modified vehicle chassis numbers and used stolen blank registration documents from Italy and Austria to fraudulently register and sell the cars in Spain. The investigation began in July 2025 after authorities detected irregularities in the documentation of an imported Maserati. Subsequent searches led to the recovery of additional vehicles in locations including Cerdanyola del Vallès, Figueres, Gavà, and La Bisbal del Penedès.

A 51-year-old man has been criminally charged with offenses including document forgery, receiving stolen goods, fraud, and money laundering. Police also seized several stolen blank logbooks and identified that some vehicles had already been sold to unsuspecting third parties.
