MotoGP 2026 championship battle tightens after Silverstone

The 2026 MotoGP season enters its second half following the summer break, marked by a highly competitive championship battle. After 11 Grand Prix events, the top five riders are separated by only 24 points.

Jorge Martín leads the standings with 208 points riding for Aprilia Racing. He is closely pursued by Ai Ogura (194), Marc Márquez (190), Marco Bezzecchi (186), and Fabio Di Giannantonio (184). The tight margin means a single weekend, which can award up to 37 points between the Sprint and the main race, could significantly shift the leadership.

The season resumed at the Silverstone Grand Prix in the United Kingdom, where Raúl Fernández secured a victory for the Trackhouse Racing Team on an Aprilia. The 2026 calendar consists of 22 rounds, leaving much of the season remaining to determine the world champion.
