MotoGP 2026 Title Fight Tightens as Season Enters Second Half

The 2026 MotoGP World Championship has entered its second half with only 24 points separating the top five riders after 11 Grand Prix events, the narrowest margin in the modern era. Eleven races remain until the season finale in Valencia, making every point critical.

The upcoming British round at Silverstone will restart the contest after the summer break, while non‑European venues in Japan, Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia are expected to play a decisive role. Key contenders include Aprilia riders Jorge Martín and Marco Bezzecchi, Japanese rider Ai Ogura, Fabio Di Giannantonio and seven‑time champion Marc Márquez, with challengers such as Raúl Fernández, Pedro Acosta, Francesco Bagnaia and Alex Márquez also in the mix.

Highlights from the first half feature Pedro Acosta’s controversial sprint win in Thailand after Marc Márquez was penalised, Bezzecchi’s hat‑trick of dominant performances, Martín’s sprint victory at Jerez, and the Márquez brothers' strong showings in Spain. The Australian Grand Prix will be the final MotoGP appearance at Phillip Island before the event moves to Adelaide.

The championship will conclude at the Valencia circuit in November, where the remaining rivals will battle for the title.
