MotoGP reveals 2027 calendar with technical shifts and new venues
MotoGP has unveiled its provisional 2027 calendar, featuring 22 Grands Prix across five continents. The season will mark a significant technical era shift, transitioning from 1,000cc to 850cc engines, reducing aerodynamics, and introducing Pirelli as the sole tire supplier.
Key calendar changes include the return of the Argentine Grand Prix at the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez in Buenos Aires and the debut of the Adelaide Street Circuit in Australia, which replaces Phillip Island. The season is scheduled to begin in Thailand on March 5 and conclude in Valencia on November 28.
Other notable updates include the rescheduling of the Portuguese Grand Prix at Portimão to October and the removal of the Hungarian Grand Prix. The Algarve circuit has also secured its place on the calendar through 2029. The technical overhaul is expected to impact rider lineups, with several prominent riders slated to move to new manufacturers.
