Motorcycle crash blocks Trakia motorway near km 281, Bulgaria

A motorcycle accident at the 281‑kilometre point on the Trakia motorway heading toward Sofia forced the temporary closure of that section of the highway. Traffic was diverted onto a detour that runs through the Zimnitsa road junction, the city of Yambol, and the Hadzhidimitrovovo junction before rejoining the main carriageway. Police and road‑infrastructure workers are managing the flow and have asked drivers to proceed with heightened caution.

A separate incident further down the route, near kilometre 20 in the opposite direction toward Burgas, involved a heavy‑goods vehicle that limited traffic to the passing lane only, also under police control. Officials have not yet released details on the condition of the motorcyclist involved in the primary crash.
