Emergency services respond to fires and accidents across Europe
Various emergency incidents have been reported across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In Germany, a major fire at the Knettenbrech und Gurdulic waste management site in Wiesbaden-Biebrich caused heavy smoke and odors affecting the Mainz-Wiesbaden area, prompting health warnings. Other notable German incidents include a residential fire in Gelsenkirchen-Hassel that resulted in four hospitalizations, a fire at a recycling center in Wiesloch causing 500,000 euros in damage, and several serious traffic accidents in Wülfrath, Ahlen, Jülich, and Weidenberg.
In Austria, emergency services responded to a small fire in a residential and commercial building in Traun and a collision on the B70 in Söding that left two people injured. In Switzerland, a car crash in Wohlen resulted in four young people being rescued from a burning vehicle, with several sustaining serious injuries.
