Reports from late September 2026 indicate a series of traffic accidents, fires, and related criminal investigations across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In Germany, incidents included a collision on the B12 in Weißensberg causing five minor injuries, a high-speed crash in Weiden where a driver struck a tree, and a collision between a police patrol car and a VW in Herne. Other reported accidents involved an e-scooter and a pedestrian in Rheine, a child struck by a side mirror in Rieschweiler-Mühlbach, and a serious accident in Burgsinn involving a stolen vehicle and an unlicensed driver. Fatalities and severe injuries were also noted, including a motorcycle collision in Franken attributed to fatigue, and a three-car pileup on the A42 near Bottrop that required emergency crews to rescue a driver with potential spinal injuries. Recent reports from September 29 highlight further fatalities, including a motorcycle rider in Stuttgart struck by a truck and a driver in Lower Saxony who died after crashing into a tree.
