Moundou launches educational training for educators and volunteers

In Moundou, Chad, several educational training initiatives have been launched to improve teaching standards in the Logone Occidental province.

Approximately 60 early childhood educators from the Lac-Wey department began a refresher training program from October 12 to 17. This initiative, led by the Ministry of Women and Early Childhood, aims to harmonize pedagogical content and strengthen skills regarding child protection and supervision. The program utilizes a new pedagogical manual developed with support from UNICEF, intended for use in the 2026-2027 school year. This effort addresses a significant need for qualified personnel across the province's 99 identified childcare structures.

Simultaneously, the Logone Occidental Provincial Council launched a training session for 60 volunteer teachers at the École normale d’instituteurs bilingues (ENIB). Part of the National Volunteer Agency (ANVOL-T) initiative, which aims to recruit 200 young volunteers, this program focuses on classroom management. The training emphasizes inclusive pedagogical methods, student participation, and creating safe learning environments to address challenges such as large class sizes and varying student levels.
